The Mo Ibrahim Leadership Fellowship is a prestigious 12-month program designed to prepare the next generation of exceptional African leaders. Fellows work in the executive offices of leading institutions such as the African Development Bank (AfDB, Abidjan), United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA, Addis Ababa), or the International Trade Centre (ITC, Geneva). Each Fellow contributes to governance, policy, and development projects while gaining direct mentorship from top executives.

- Applicants with a Master’s degree
- Minimum 7 years’ relevant work experience
- Under 40 years of age (45 for women with children)

How are Applicants Selected?
Applications are vetted by the AfDB HR team → shortlist reviewed by the Mo Ibrahim Foundation → final selection made by the Bank’s President. Selection emphasizes academic excellence, professional experience, leadership potential, and relevance to Africa’s development.
