Who Can Apply?
Applicants who:
- Are nationals of, or hold permanent residency in, an African country (excluding Egypt, which has a separate scheme).
- Hold a Conditional or Unconditional Offer for a full-time postgraduate taught programme starting in September 2025, January 2026, September 2026, or January 2027.
How Are Applicants Selected?
Selection is automatic and based on academic qualifications:
- £5,000 award: For students with a Bachelor’s degree equivalent to a UK 2:1 classification, or a Pre-Master’s / postgraduate qualification with strong results.
- £4,000 award: For students with a Bachelor’s degree equivalent to a UK 2:2 classification, or a Pre-Master’s / postgraduate qualification with comparable results.
Students enrolling in a Pre-Master’s will receive the award when progressing to their main postgraduate programme.

Open to students from all African nations (except Egypt, which has its own scholarship).
