The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission has launched a new Master’s Scholarship stream for students from Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Beginning in the 2026–2027 academic year, the program will provide 20 fully funded scholarships each year for two years to support individuals passionate about social impact and sustainable development.
Which Fields are Eligible?
Any field of study at UK universities, with a focus on areas contributing to:
- Democratic institutions and human rights
- Environment and climate change
- Economic resilience and prosperity
- Societal resilience and empowerment
Type:
Fully funded Master’s scholarship.
Who can Apply?
Applicants who are:
- Citizens of eligible SIDS countries.
- Able to demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to social impact.
- Eligible according to their national nominating agency’s criteria.
How are Applicants Selected?
- Applications must go through both the national nominating agency and the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC).
- Candidates may be invited for interviews.
- Final results will be announced in July 2026.
Which Countries Are Eligible?
Applicants must be from:
Belize, Dominica, Fiji, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Kiribati, Maldives, Mauritius, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
Where will the Award be Taken?
At partner universities across the United Kingdom.
How Many Awards?
20 scholarships annually, for two years (2026 and 2027).
