Excellence Fellowships at the Faculty of Science, University of Geneva are designed for outstanding students pursuing a Master of Science in various scientific fields. The University of Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowships are offered by the Faculty of Science, one of Switzerland’s most prestigious and internationally recognized research institutions.
This fellowship aims to support outstanding and highly motivated international students who wish to pursue a Master of Science in any discipline covered by the Faculty.
The Faculty’s programs offer an ideal foundation for careers in academia, industry, teaching, administration, and science communication. Master’s programs are taught either entirely in English or in both English and French.

Who can Apply?
✅ Students from any university worldwide with excellent academic records (top 10% of their undergraduate class).
✅ Applicants who have completed or expect to complete a Bachelor’s degree within 6 months of applying.
✅ Candidates must meet the admission criteria of their chosen Master’s program at the University of Geneva.
✅ Students who have already started a Master’s at the Faculty of Science are not eligible.

- Begin the enrollment procedure on the Admissions Office website.
- Submit the online Excellence Fellowship application form (you’ll receive a personal link after registration).
- Upload all documents as one single PDF file, including:
- National ID card or passport
- Curriculum Vitae (max 2 pages)
- Bachelor’s transcript (with grades)
- Motivation letter (describing scientific interests and reasons for choosing UNIGE)
- Two recommendation letters from professors (sent directly to Excellence-Master-Sciences@unige.ch)
