The MTN mPulse Spelling Bee Competition is an annual literacy competition designed to empower Nigerian students aged 9 to 15. Organized by MTN Foundation Nigeria, the competition identifies and rewards young spelling champions with life-changing scholarships, tech gadgets, school infrastructure support, and nationwide recognition. It includes online rounds, regional qualifiers, and a grand finale in Lagos.

Who can Apply?
- Nigerian citizens aged 9–15
- Must be in primary or secondary school
- Must register as a student on the MTN mPulse platform
- Finalists must be on the MTN mPulse tariff plan
- Parents/guardians cannot register or compete on behalf of the student
How are Applicants Selected?
The competition has four stages:
- Round 1: 10 spelling questions (online at mpulse.mtn.ng)
- Round 2: 20 spelling questions (online – shortlisted only)
- Regional Events: On-ground spelling competitions in Ibadan, Enugu & Abuja
- Grand Finale: In-person spelling competition in Lagos, streamed live online
