The Commonwealth Professional Fellowship 2026 is a fully funded UK Government programme that supports mid-career professionals from low- and middle-income Commonwealth countries to undertake a period of professional development in the UK. Fellows gain hands-on exposure, network with professionals, and return home with enhanced capacity to drive development impact.

Fellowships are available under six development themes:
- Science and Technology for Development
- Strengthening Health Systems and Capacity
- Promoting Innovation and Entrepreneurship
- Strengthening Global Peace, Security, and Governance
- Strengthening Resilience and Response to Crises
- Access, Inclusion, and Opportunity

Who Can Apply?
✅ Mid-career professionals (5+ years of relevant experience)
✅ Must be employed at the time of application
✅ Must return to the same organisation after the fellowship
✅ Must not have received this fellowship in the last 5 years
✅ Not for academic research or study

Which Countries Are Eligible?
🌍 Citizens or refugees of eligible Commonwealth countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, India, Pakistan, South Africa, and more.

📍 United Kingdom – with placement at a designated UK host organisation

What is the Benefit of the Award?

- Return airfare
- Visa reimbursement
- Monthly stipend:
- £2,104 (outside London)
- £2,612 (London-based)
