The Peterhouse Research Fellowships 2026 are prestigious postdoctoral fellowships offered by Peterhouse, the oldest college at the University of Cambridge. Funded by the benefactions of William Stone and others, these fellowships support outstanding early-career researchers to pursue independent research within the intellectually vibrant Cambridge environment.

📚 Which Fields are Eligible?
Open to all academic disciplines, provided the candidate can demonstrate the capacity for independent research. Selection is based on academic merit, not subject area.

👤 Who Can Apply?
- Graduates or current students of a UK or Republic of Ireland university
- Must have passed all first-degree exams by 1 October 2026
- Must have achieved at least a 2.1 classification (or equivalent)
- Must have submitted PhD thesis no earlier than 18 months before 1 October 2026
- Must be capable of conducting unsupervised research

- Shortlisting based on academic achievements and application materials
- Shortlisted candidates are invited to submit a dissertation or written work
- Final candidates are invited for interview
- Selection is based on merit and research potential
🌍 Which Countries Are Eligible?
Only graduates or students from universities in the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland are eligible.

- Annual salary: £32,172 (Point 35 on University Scale)
- Free accommodation in College (rent & council tax exempt)
- Research allowance: £1,796/year
- Entertainment allowance: £794/year

- Option to teach up to 6 hours/week (with additional pay)

⏳ How Long Will the Award Last?
Initial tenure of three (3) years, with the possibility of renewal
