The University of Sheffield is offering 75 International Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarships for outstanding international students starting a full-time master’s degree in September 2025. Each award provides a £10,000 tuition fee reduction based on academic merit and personal achievements.

🎓 Which Fields are Eligible?
All full-time postgraduate taught (Masters) programs offered directly by the University of Sheffield, except:
- Distance learning programs
- Dual/joint degrees with partner institutions
- Erasmus Mundus and Crossways programs
- Higher clinical fee courses (e.g., Orthodontics, Endodontics, etc.)
Note: MArch (Architecture) is considered eligible as a postgraduate taught program.

👤 Who can Apply?
- Applicants who are international (overseas) fee-paying students
- Must hold an unconditional or conditional offer for an eligible master’s course
- Must be self-funded (not receiving full funding from a sponsor)
- Must not be applying for or receiving other major scholarships from the University of Sheffield (e.g., GREAT, NCUK, MBA, etc.)
📋 How are Applicants Selected?
Selection is based on a competitive review by a panel of senior university staff, considering:
- Strong academic record
- Evidence of leadership, initiative, and achievements in academic, professional, or voluntary areas
- How well the applicant connects their achievements to their chosen course and future ambitions
🌍 Which Countries Are Eligible?
All countries outside the UK. The scholarship is open to all international students.

- A £10,000 reduction in tuition fees
- Can be combined with departmental or faculty scholarships, but not with major university-wide awards

⏳ How Long Will the Award Last?
- For the duration of the master’s program (up to 2 years full-time)
- Pro-rated for part-time students (up to 4 years)
- Available in Year 2 of a 2-year master’s if the student successfully completes Year 1
