The CIMPA-ICTP “Research in Pairs” Fellowship supports mathematicians from developing countries by funding their visits to Europe for collaborative research with a European colleague. Fellows will conduct research at the host institution and record a mathematics mini-course for master’s or early PhD students.

The two researchers will work together on a well-defined research project, primarily at the European colleague’s institution. Priority will be given to applicants who remain scientifically active despite challenging circumstances, such as heavy teaching, supervision, or administrative responsibilities, and those who have had limited travel opportunities in the past five years.

How Many Fellowships?
- Limited (Competitive selection)
What is the Benefit of the Fellowship?
- Up to €10,000 funding, covering:
- Travel costs
- Accommodation
- Visa fees
- Insurance
- Minimum 5-week research stay, plus 1 extra week to record the mini-course
How Long Will the Fellowship Last?
- At least 6 weeks (5 weeks for research + 1 week for mini-course recording)
