Applications are reviewed in three rounds:
- Round 1: Apply by 3 November 2025 (23:59 UK time) → Notification by 31 January 2026

The President’s PhD Scholarships at Imperial College London offer 50 fully funded PhD opportunities for exceptional international students with outstanding academic achievements and research potential. The program allows scholars to pursue independent research in any field at Imperial under world-class supervision while benefiting from professional development and networking through the Early Career Researcher Institute (ECRI).

Who Can Apply?
Applications are open to students of all nationalities, including those from the UK, EU, and overseas, who:
- Hold or are expected to obtain a First-Class undergraduate or integrated Master’s degree, OR
- Have achieved a Distinction in a standalone Master’s degree if they did not earn a First-Class undergraduate result.
Candidates must also:
- Apply for a new PhD (current PhD students at Imperial are not eligible)
- Demonstrate strong academic references and research potential
- Secure a supervisor at Imperial willing to support their PhD application

How are Applicants Selected?
Selection occurs in two stages:
- Departmental Review: Departments shortlist candidates based on academic excellence, research proposal strength, and supervisor endorsement.
- College Selection Panel: The Vice-Provost (Research) and Faculty Vice-Deans assess shortlisted applicants on:
- Academic excellence
- Research potential
- Research plan impact
- Performance at departmental interview
