About the KZN Department of Agriculture Internships:
KZN Agriculture and Rural Development Internship Intake 2026/28.The programme offers twenty four month internship opportunities for unemployed graduates. Interns will start on 1 April 2026 and finish on 31 March 2028. You will gain workplace training in technical, professional and public service skills that support entry into the job market.
You will receive a monthly stipend. The amount depends on the NQF level of your qualification. Payments follow Department of Public Service Developmental guidelines.
You will undergo on the-job development training in technical, professional and public service skills relevant to enter the formal job market.

- Applicants must be South African citizens
- Applicants must be residing in KwaZulu Natal,
- Applicants must be unemployed
- Applicants must be between the ages of 18 35 years
- Applicants must be entering the graduate internship programme in the Public Service for the first time.
How are Applicants Selected?
Preference will be given to applicants from the previously disadvantaged groups and those who are living with disabilities. Candidates within specified areas are encouraged to apply.

What is the Value of KZN Department of Agriculture Internships?
Appointed graduate interns will be remunerated by means of a monthly stipend depending on the NQF level of qualification as determined by the Department of Public Service and Administration’s Directive on youth development programmes.
