The University of Global Health Equity (UGHE), in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, invites applications for the Master of Science in Health Professions Education (MSc-HPE) – Direct Entry Track.

This fully funded program equips Africa’s next generation of health educators and academic leaders to design, deliver, and evaluate innovative and equitable health education programs. Who can Apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be 35 years or under at the time of application (exceptions apply for persons with disabilities).
  • Be citizens, residents, or refugees of an African country.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field.
  • Have teaching, supervision, or leadership experience in health-related higher education institutions (or show clear potential).
  • Provide an institutional recommendation letter confirming support and dedicated time for participation.
  • Not already hold a master’s degree (for Mastercard Foundation Scholarship applicants).

Selection is merit-based and considers:

  • Demonstrated leadership potential in health education

  • Commitment to advancing equitable health education in Africa
    Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews in December 2025, with final decisions released in January 2026.
