About this Program
The Mythbusters Fellowship seeks to build information resilience by equipping local influencers with tools to detect and disrupt misleading content. Fellows will collaborate with CfA’s forensic iLAB team and PesaCheck to share evidence-based findings. They will create short, engaging content in local languages using graphic, audio, or video formats. Academy Africa will provide training on fact-checking, ethics, and accuracy. International experts and engagement professionals will offer mentorship throughout the program.
Fellows will join the Congress for Peace (COPP) influencers network. They may also speak at network events or present at major continental conferences. The program focuses on digital democracy, especially regarding climate change, foreign information manipulation, the 2026 South African municipal elections, and xenophobia.
