About this Africa Leadership Accelerator Fellowship
The Africa Leadership Accelerator Fellowship is designed for professionals who want to deepen their leadership skills and broaden their impact on health equity. The program combines real-world application with structured learning, including monthly workshops, group gatherings, and asynchronous coaching.
Cohorts typically include 30–50 fellows. Participants benefit from a supportive peer network and mentorship opportunities. The fellowship is structured to fit alongside full-time employment, so fellows can immediately apply new skills in their workplaces.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be aged 21–35 by 1 September 2026.
- Citizen of Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, or Zambia.
- Employed full-time in a non-clinical public health role for at least 3 months at the time of application.
- Employed by a public health organization operating in one of the eligible countries.
- Have written support from your employer for participation.
- Fluent in English (all instructions are in English).
- Remain with the same organization for the duration of the fellowship.
What Fellows Receive: Leadership training, mentorship, peer support, and access to GHC’s network
Program Components: Monthly workshops, small group gatherings, asynchronous coaching and mentorship, in-person retreats, and professional development activities
How to Apply for Africa Leadership Accelerator Fellowship
- Review the eligibility criteria and program details on the official GHC page.
- Access the application form via the official website.
- Complete Part 1: Provide basic information and employment details.
- Submit your supervisor’s name and email for a required recommendation.
- Once your supervisor submits the recommendation, access Part 2.
- Complete Part 2: Submit a professional bio, answer short essay prompts, and upload a 60-second video.
- Submit your application by the deadline. Priority is given to applications received by 5 March 2026.
- If shortlisted, attend an interview with GHC team members (interviews occur in May and June).
- Wait for notification of your application status by 31 July 2026.
Deferrals are not permitted. However, you may reapply in future cycles if you continue to meet the requirements.
