  • Be citizens of eligible countries:
    • Asia: Bangladesh, Nepal, Taiwan
    • Europe: Türkiye, Ukraine
    • Middle East & North Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia
    • Sub-Saharan Africa: Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda
  • Be enrolled full-time at a post-secondary institution in one of the eligible countries.
  • Pay tuition fees to their home institution during the mobility period.
  • Complete all project activities by September 30, 2027.
  • Not hold Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.
  • Not already enrolled in a Canadian degree/diploma program.
  • Not be receiving other GAC or Canadian federal funding.

How are Applicants Selected?

  • Applications reviewed by UVic’s Office of Global Engagement.
  • Final selection made by Global Affairs Canada.
  • Evaluation based on eligibility, academic merit, and quality of supporting documents (letters of intent, institutional support, supervisor invitation for research).
