About this HEALENAE Fully Funded PhD Scholarships in Anthropology

The HEALENAE Doctoral Network is a collaboration between Aarhus University (Denmark), University of Cape Town (South Africa), University of Edinburgh (UK), KU Leuven (Belgium), Makerere University (Uganda), University of Nairobi (Kenya), and Oslo University (Norway). Makerere University in Uganda is an associated partner and may issue degrees as a secondary institution.
The program aims to document and analyze connections between health and environmental contexts in Africa and Europe. Each PhD project involves long-term anthropological fieldwork. Scholars will participate in annual training schools, writing retreats, and a six-month stay at a secondary university.
