About the EPWP Graduate Jobs:
EPWP Graduate Jobs are now available for young South African graduates in Gauteng. Mogale City Municipality, in partnership with the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE), has opened 55 fixed-term graduate work opportunities under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).
These positions target unemployed youth who want practical work experience. The programme also supports environmental protection and urban greening in the West Rand.
What Are EPWP Graduate Jobs?
EPWP Youth Graduate Jobs form part of the government’s work-based learning strategy. The programme helps graduates gain workplace exposure while earning a stipend.
At Mogale City Municipality, the focus is on environmental management, compliance, conservation, and community education. Graduates will work directly in municipal programmes that benefit residents.
These opportunities run for five months and are not permanent posts.
Available Graduate Positions and Fields
Environmental Education and Awareness (3 Posts)
Graduates will design education programmes and promote sustainable practices. Duties include creating posters and working with community groups.
Climate Change Programmes (3 Posts)
These roles support climate change mitigation and adaptation projects within the municipality.
Environmental Compliance Promotion (3 Posts)
Graduates will assist with field inspections, data collection, and regulatory enforcement.
Landscaping and Urban Design (3 Posts)
This stream focuses on municipal landscaping plans and urban greening strategies.
Nature Conservation (1 Post)
The role includes biodiversity assessments, hazard control, and conservation reporting.
Urban Greening and Horticulture (4 Posts)
Graduates will participate in tree planting, gardening projects, and beautification initiatives.
By-Law Enforcement Support (9 Posts)
Duties include monitoring illegal dumping sites, inspections, recycling support, and issuing notices.
Environmental Health (3 Posts)
This role supports waste management analysis, data systems, and compliance reporting.
Administration Support (2 Posts)
Graduates will assist with office management, record keeping, and project coordination.

Educational Requirements
- Matric plus three years of study (M+3)
- Accepted fields include:

Age and Residency
- Aged 18 to 35 years
- South African citizens only
- Preference given to Mogale City residents
