The Salam Scholarships were established in 2023 to support Palestinian women with strong academic ability and leadership potential who face financial and structural barriers to studying abroad. The scholarship is fully funded and enables recipients to pursue undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD, or Graduate Entry Medicine (MBBS) studies at Ulster University, Northern Ireland, for the 2026/27 academic year.

- Research (PhD)
- Graduate Entry Medicine (MBBS)

Who can Apply?
Applicants must:
- Be a female Palestinian currently resident in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (priority given to West Bank, Gaza, and refugee camps)
- Hold a Palestinian or Jerusalem ID
- Demonstrate financial need and limited access to overseas education
- Be applying to start a new programme at Ulster University
- Not have previously studied outside Palestine, Israel, or Lebanon
- Not already hold a qualification at the same or higher level (MBBS exception applies)
- Meet Ulster University’s academic and English language requirements
- Be able to live in Northern Ireland (UK) for the duration of the programme
- Provide two referees (academic/employment and financial)

Applicants are assessed by an independent selection panel based on:

- Commitment to contributing to their community, country, and society
- Interview performance (for shortlisted candidates)

The scholarship covers:
- Full annual tuition fees
- Full accommodation costs
- UK student visa and health surcharge
- Annual travel grant
- Monthly living stipend
- One-off £1,000 materials grant
- Annual £1,000 research grant (PhD only)
Funding does not cover dependents.

For the full duration of the approved programme (subject to satisfactory academic progress).
