The Inspiring the Outstanding Scholarship is a highly competitive, merit-based master’s scholarship offered by KU Leuven to exceptional international students. It is funded through the KU Leuven International Scholarship Fund and reflects the university’s mission of academic excellence, innovation, global engagement, and societal impact. (Preparatory, bridging, and distance learning programmes are not eligible)

Who can Apply?
- International students of all nationalities
- Applicants to eligible KU Leuven Master’s programmes
- Students with excellent academic performance (high GPA)
- Students whose previous degree was obtained outside Flanders
- Applicants meeting English language proficiency requirements (unless exempt)
- Students not currently enrolled at a Flemish higher education institution
How are Applicants Selected?
Applicants are nominated by their chosen KU Leuven Master’s programme after the application deadline. Final selection is made by the central KU Leuven Selection Committee based on academic excellence, motivation, leadership abilities, relevant experience, commitment, and overall applicant profile. Nominated candidates must submit a one-minute motivational video.

What is the Benefit of the Award?
- Full tuition fee waiver (students pay only an annual administration fee of €136.50)
- Living allowance of €12,000 per academic year
How Long Will the Award Last?
- 1 academic year for a 60 ECTS Master’s programme
- Up to 2 academic years for a 120 ECTS Master’s programme
How to Apply:
- Apply for an eligible KU Leuven Master’s programme before 15 January 2026, including the KU Leuven Scholarships & Master Mind Candidacy Form as an annex.
- Register your scholarship candidacy via the KU Leuven online registration tool before the deadline.
- If nominated, submit a one-minute motivational video by 18 March 2026.
