The Chula-Global Library Visiting Fellowship Program 2026, hosted by the Office of Academic Resources (OAR), Chulalongkorn University, offers international library professionals, information specialists, and researchers a two-month residency in Bangkok, Thailand.

The fellowship supports collaborative projects, academic publications, digital preservation work, research data initiatives, and studies focused on Thai and Southeast Asian cultures. Fellows join a multicultural research environment and engage directly with OAR’s collections, facilities, and expert staff.

Two fellowship tracks are available:

  • Professional Practice Track – for professionals in librarianship, archiving, scholarly communication, and digital innovation.
  • Research Fellowship Track – for scholars with strong publication records in Thai Studies, Southeast Asian Studies, or related fields.

International visiting fellowship (2-month residency).

Who can Apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be non-Thai citizens.
  • Be current employees or affiliates of reputable universities or institutions.
  • Have at least three years of relevant professional experience (for Professional Practice Track).
  • Hold a terminal degree with research experience (for Research Fellowship Track).
  • Demonstrate strong English proficiency.
  • Obtain institutional approval to participate.
  • Be able to commit to the full 2-month residency.

How are Applicants Selected?

  • Review of complete application materials
  • Assessment of project proposal (clarity, feasibility, relevance, impact)
  • Interview via Zoom
  • Final evaluation by OAR selection committee

  • Open to all nationalities except Thai citizens.

How Many Awards?

  • One (1) fellow will be selected for the 2026 cycle.

What is the Benefit of the Award?

  • Stipend: 230,000 THB
    • Subject to 15% withholding tax
    • Intended to cover visa fees, airfare, accommodation, insurance, and program expenses
  • Two stipend installments:
    • First after arrival (post administrative processing)
    • Second after program completion and submission of final report
  • Access to OAR’s archives, Thailand & ASEAN Information Center, and digital collections
  • Collaboration opportunities with OAR’s academic and professional staff
  • Support for research publications or professional practice projects

How Long Will the Award Last?

Two (2) months
Residency options:

  • May 1 – June 30, 2026
  • June 1 – July 31, 2026
