In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the University of Leicester is offering one scholarship of £10,000 GBP to students in Pakistan applying for a one-year postgraduate course (excluding PGCEs).

The award supports talented international students beginning a one-year, full-time, on-campus Master’s programme in September 2026 (excluding PGCE programmes).
It forms part of the wider GREAT Scholarships 2026 initiative, which enables students from 15 eligible countries—including Pakistan—to access top-tier UK higher education.

Which Fields are Eligible?

  • All eligible one-year, full-time, campus-based postgraduate taught programmes at the University of Leicester.
  • Excludes PGCE.

(Applicants must hold an offer for any taught Master’s programme starting September 2026.)

  • £10,000 Tuition Fee Scholarship (Non-cash Tuition Reduction)

Who can Apply?

You must:

  • Be a permanent resident and passport holder of Pakistan.
  • Be classified as an international fee-paying student.
  • Hold an offer for a full-time, campus-based Master’s programme starting September 2026 (excluding PGCE).
  • Demonstrate strong academic performance — priority is given to students with the equivalent of a high First-Class Honours degree.

How are Applicants Selected?

Selection is based on:

  • Academic excellence
  • Quality of written response (demonstrating how you will be a Citizen of Change)
  • Quality of a 60-second video explaining how your chosen programme will support your career goals
  • Clear alignment with university values
  • Ability to serve as an ambassador for the University of Leicester and the GREAT programme

Students already holding:

  • Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship, or
  • Chevening Scholarship

are not eligible.

  • One (1) scholarship available for Pakistan for the 2026 intake.

    • Resit fees
    • Industrial placement costs
    • Living expenses
    • Travel expenses

How Long Will the Award Last?

  • One academic year only (for a one-year postgraduate programme)

Applicants must:

  1. Complete the official scholarship application form.
  2. Provide a written response (max 200 words) explaining:
    • How you will embody Leicester’s values as a Citizen of Change
    • A specific example of positive impact you plan to make
  3. Submit a 60-second video describing:
    • How the chosen programme will help achieve your academic and career goals
  4. Ensure they hold an offer for an eligible Master’s programme.
