The scholarship programme aims to support the qualification and employability of young academics and future professionals from developing and emerging countries. The DAAD Study Scholarships for STEM Disciplines offer outstanding students from developing and emerging countries the opportunity to pursue a tuition-free Master’s degree in Germany.
Funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), this program aims to enhance academic and professional qualifications in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields, supporting young scholars to contribute to global innovation and sustainable development.

Which Fields are Eligible?

Master’s degree programs in:

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must:

  • Hold a recognized Bachelor’s degree (completed within the last 6 years).
  • Have above-average academic records.
  • Not already hold a Master’s degree.

  • Not have resided in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of application.
  • Meet the admission requirements of their chosen German university program.

  • Free German language courses (online or in-person) and reimbursement of TestDaF/DSH fees.

How Long Will the Award Last?

Funding duration: 10 to 24 months, depending on the standard period of study of the chosen Master’s program. Continuation after the first year is based on satisfactory academic performance.
