This award is exclusively for current students studying a degree at Queen’s University Belfast within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

The AHSS Jetset Award 2025–2026 at Queen’s University Belfast supports current students in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (AHSS) to take part in international activities that enrich their academic experience and skill development. It aims to help students gain global exposure through opportunities such as study exchanges, short courses, summer schools, internships, and placements abroad.

Which Fields are Eligible?
All degree programs within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, including:
- Arts, English and Languages
- Law
- History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics
- Social Sciences, Education and Social Work
(Students in Queen’s Business School are not eligible.)

Who can Apply?
Current undergraduate, postgraduate taught, and postgraduate research students within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast.
How are Applicants Selected?
Selection is through a competitive process based on application strength, relevance of the activity to academic and career goals, and submission of required supporting documents. Awards are subject to available funding.
Which Countries are Eligible?
Open to all nationalities.
Where will the Award be Taken?
Abroad — outside the UK and Republic of Ireland. The international activity must add value to the applicant’s degree, enhance skills, and be relevant to future career goals.
How Many Awards?
Multiple awards are available through a competitive selection process.
What is the Benefit of the Award?
- £1,000 standard award
- £1,250 for students who:
- Receive the maximum Student Finance allowance, or
- Are care leavers/care-experienced students registered with the Widening Participation Unit
How Long Will the Award Last?
Covers activities taking place between 1 June 2025 and 31 August 2026 (the outbound date must fall within this range).

Interested students must submit an online application form with all supporting evidence (e.g., confirmation of placement, summer school, or exchange). Applicants must already have confirmed or booked their international activity before applying.
