You must submit your application and supporting documents on time to be considered for the Scholarship Award. Each awardee will receive $500 at the time of the award.

The Egbe Omo Yoruba of Greater Miami Valley, USA is inviting applications for the 2025 Scholarship Awards. The award supports outstanding college and university students in Ohio, USA, as well as students of Yoruba descent in Nigeria, who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and financial need.
Each awardee will receive $500 (Ohio-based award) or the Naira equivalent of $250 USD (Nigeria-based award) at the time of the award. The organization is dedicated to promoting education and empowering youth of African and Yoruba descent.
Which Fields are Eligible?
All accredited fields of study at recognized colleges, universities, or polytechnics.
Type:
Undergraduate and postgraduate scholarship awards.
Who can Apply?
Applicants must:
- Be enrolled in an accredited College or University in Ohio, USA, or in a recognized tertiary institution in Nigeria.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or 3.75/5.0.
- Be of African descent, preferably Yoruba.
- Demonstrate financial need through a short written essay.
- Submit an official or unofficial transcript showing academic performance.
- Provide one letter of recommendation from an academic staff member who knows their character and performance.
- Note: Family members or relatives of Egbe Omo Yoruba of Greater Miami Valley members are not eligible to apply.
How are Applicants Selected?
Selection is based on:
- Academic achievement
- Financial need
- Strength of the personal statement
- Recommendation letter
Shortlisted candidates may be invited for virtual interviews via Zoom before final selection.
