The Harvard LEAD Fellows Program 2026/27 is a fully funded one-year fellowship jointly offered by the Harvard Global Health Institute (HGHI) and the Department of Global Health and Population at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. The program is designed to equip emerging women leaders from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) with leadership, management, and policy skills in global health. Fellows receive individualized mentorship, executive coaching, and participate in world-class training and networking opportunities both virtually and on campus at Harvard University.

Who can Apply?
Applicants must:
- Be currently working full-time in global health.
- Have a minimum of a Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Possess at least 10 years of professional experience (excluding student work).
- Have the full support of their employer and a champion within their organization.
- Be able to take a 6-week leave of absence for the in-residence session in April 2027.
- Be based in or working in a low- or middle-income country (LMIC) and plan to return after the fellowship.
- Be eligible for and able to obtain a J-1 visa to the U.S.
How are Applicants Selected?
Selection is based on professional experience, leadership potential, academic background, and the applicant’s demonstrated commitment to advancing women’s leadership in global health. A review panel evaluates submitted documents, essays, and letters of recommendation before final selection.

Applicants from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) across Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and South America are eligible.
